Join The Humble Beans on a journey through nursery rhymes in a workshop of song, movement, rhythm and stories.
Created specifically for EYFS and KS1 children, each workshop can be tailored to suit the needs of your school. 
Half day and full day workshops available, and can be tailored to your needs.

Aim

This workshop is designed to:

  • Develop children’s musical understanding and listening skills

  • Expose children to new language in a range of contexts

  • Advance children’s communication and confidence

  • Develop children’s social and emotional understanding 

  • Build children’s confidence in numeracy 

  • Lay strong foundations for building children’s executive function 

  • Progress children’s gross and fine motor skills 

...all through the use of nursery rhymes.

Overview

In this workshop, children will follow two little dicky birds Peter and Paul, on a magical journey across the land; a story told through nursery rhymes, dalcroze-inspired movement activities, music and drama.

Just a few of the nursery rhymes the children will encounter on their journey:

  • Two Little Dicky Birds

  • Peter Taps with One Hammer

  • Cobbler, Cobbler, Mend my Shoe

  • London Bridge is Falling Down

The workshop uses a range resources including puppets, percussion instruments and dance scarves, which the children will use during the workshop.
